The Introductory Day for a one-year Distance Learning Course for nurses, accredited at degree level (30 credits), introduces the new students to distance learning, provides the learning materials and has lectures on topics such as pharmacology and critical appraisal. This course aims to develop the skills of nurses caring for patients at special risk of primary and secondary vascular disease. On completion nurses should become valuable assets to his/her multi disciplinary team and be able to provide a nurse managed cardiac and stroke prevention programme.
